Steve practices primarily in real property transactions. He has a lengthy background in municipal law and land use planning to augment his real estate practice. He represents individuals and business entities in the sale, purchase, and leasing of real property (both commercial and residential) and in the development of real property. His development work has included residential, retail, commercial, and industrial facilities, as well as the formation of common interest communities (homeowners’ associations). He has represented public entities and land owners in eminent domain proceedings. Steve also has had extensive practice in real estate title law: he examines real estate titles and conducts title-clearing proceedings for individuals and for title insurance companies. Steve has been certified since 1990 as a Real Property Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. For several years, Steve has been selected by his peers as one of Minnesota ‘s top lawyers in real property law.
