Barna, Guzy & Steffen Announce Addition of New Shareholder
July 25, 2012 | Barna, Guzy & Steffen, Ltd.The Shareholders of Barna, Guzy & Steffen, Ltd. announce that Angela M. Woessner has been named Shareholder. Angela is a 2003 cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School. She began her career at BGS in 2004 as an associate in the Real Estate department after clerking at the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility. She concentrates her practice on all aspects of commercial real estate, including those related to the acquisition, sale, leasing and development of real estate. In addition to being named Shareholder, Angela was recently recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in the area of Real Estate for the 5th time. Outside of work and work related activities, Angela is Co-Chair of Lanes for Friendship, Highland Friendship Club’s flagship yearly fundraising event, as well as a member of its Development Committee. Highland Friendship Club is a nonprofit association that offers young adults with disabilities the opportunity to take part in activities and classes designed especially for them. Angela is also a board member of the Cretin-Derham Hall High School Alumni Association. Angela and her husband, Shawn, reside in St. Paul with their son, Carter.

Johnson/Real Estate Thomas P. Malone/Business Litigation Steven G. Thorson/Real Estate And their Rising Star is: Angela M. Woessner/Real Estate These attorneys will appear in the 2012 Minnesota Super Lawyers magazine distributed to attorneys in Minnesota and the ABA-accredited law school libraries. In addition, selected attorneys will also appear in the August 2012 issue of Mpls./St.Paul Magazine and Twin Cities Business. Super Lawyers are chosen using peer nominations and evaluations which are combined with third party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. The firm recognizes that it is an honor to have attorneys named Super Lawyers/Rising Stars. This acknowledgement reinforces their continuing mission to be recognized as the best and most innovative law firm in their market.

The American Bar Foundation works to advance justice through research on law, legal institutions and legal processes. Some of their current research covers topics such as: end-of-life decision making, the value of early childhood education and tort reform issues. The Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges and legal professors whose professional, public and private careers demonstrate outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and the principles of the legal profession. The Fellows encourage and support the research program of the American Bar Foundation. Liz celebrated this honor at a recent summer event at the home of Barbara J. Gislason, Esq., on July 8th, 2012.
