Jon Erickson has been involved in the practice of criminal law ever since his law school graduation in 1973. During his first eight years of practice he was an Assistant Wabasha County Attorney and then an Assistant Anoka County Attorney handling all types of criminal cases from sex charges and drug cases to murder in the first degree. In 1981, Jon became an Anoka County Public Defender and Tenth Judicial District Public Defender and then was appointed the Chief Public Defender for the Tenth Judicial District. Since 1992, Jon has practiced primarily as a private attorney specializing in criminal defense cases. He represents the accused in all types of charges and in all Minnesota Courts.
Jon has taught criminal law and trial advocacy to lawyers. He has been certified as a criminal law specialist, and has been the recipient of honors and awards as a criminal defense specialist; including the highest rating given by a national publication, a “Super Lawyer” designation. In September of 2000, Jon received the Distinguished Service Award as a Public Defender from the State Board of Public Defense. He has served on many committees that have focused on criminal law issues throughout his career. Jon is uniquely qualified to represent you, family members, friends, and colleagues in all types of criminal cases.
