We are pleased to offer Transportation Law services as part of our expanded areas of law to serve new and existing clients.  Our transportation law department is here to help with all of your transportation legal needs.

Heading up our Transportation law services is BGS Attorney James H. Wills.  Jim has extensive experience in the area of transportation law. He is familiar with the particular issues including the independent contractor issues that are faced both by transportation companies and by those who use transportation services.  He has represented shippers, brokers, carriers, freight forwarders and other parties.

Our transportation department’s service focuses on a wide variety of issues ranging from regulatory issues at the local, state and federal levels to disputes between providers and users of transportation to succession planning within the companies. Our transportation attorneys belongs to a network of attorneys in North America who can address transportation issues by mode or cargo type.

Jim also knows that transportation is an area of business that can change daily. The environment for both the providers of this service and the consumers is in flux. The attorneys dealing with these clients must be up to date on all recent issues and understand the history and importance of the industry. Jim is a member of the Minnesota Trucking Association (MTA) and highly involved to keep up to date on all the industries standards. In 2014, Jim was awarded the MTA Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his extraordinary legal work for the trucking industry.
